Cataloguing Grant for Business Archives: applications open until 25 June

The Business Archives Council has announced that this year’s cataloguing grant for business archives is a one-off bumper grant! This year a single award of £7,000 is available. Funding has been provided by BAC and the former Archives and Artefacts Studies Network (A2SN).

The aim of this grant is to fund the cataloguing of a business collection in either the private or public sector, and to:

  • provide financial support for institutions/businesses that manage business archives
  • reach collections that have not yet been prioritised but have academic, socio-historical and wider value
  • create opportunities for archivists, paraprofessionals and volunteers to gain experience in cataloguing business collections
  • make more business collections accessible.

For 2021 additional funding is available to cover project individuals’ time to deliver an exciting educational outreach programme relating to the collection(s) which are in scope to be catalogued. The outreach activities can take any form.  For example, podcasts, speakers for webinar events, creation of an online resource etc.  They should aim to maximise impact to the widest range of people within the limitation of the funds available.

The deadline for applications for the Cataloguing Grant for Business Archives is 25 June 2021.
