Discover the Land Transport Archives Network

The Land Transport Archives Network [LTAN] formed last year as an informal mutual support group for archivists, record creators and researchers interested in the documents connected with any aspect of any form of land transport (be it vehicles, operators, infrastructure, staff, passengers or freight).

They now have a website (https://ltan.info), a jiscmail account (www.jiscmail.ac.uk/LTAN), and a Twitter hashtag (#LTAN), so they started to publicise themselves to the wider archives community.
Many archives will hold some transport-related collections, whether they are formal records of turnpikes, toll bridges and highway authorities, the records of a former manufacturer or operating company, or more general examples of photographs and ephemera, so the network is not just aimed at specialist repositories.

They complement the work of their sister group, the Aviation and Aerospace Archives Initiative (https://www.aviationarchives.uk/).
Please do check out their websites if you would like to find out more about either network.
