After a fantastic start to the year, the Economic and Social History workshop is excited to issue its call for papers for Lent 2021.
They invite graduate students at any level to present both works in progress and completed research on a range of social or economic topics, from any time period or geographic region. They encourage papers that employ either qualitative and quantitative methodology, and consider any aspect of social or economic policy, historical demography, political economy, labour movements, financial institutions, or histories of poverty and welfare.
Twenty-minute papers will be followed by half an hour question and answer sessions, which seek to provide an informal and constructive atmosphere for discussion and feedback. They are regularly well attended by both students and faculty members from a range of disciplines.
They will continue to meet online at 12:30 – 1:30 pm on alternate Mondays. If you are interested in giving a paper, please send a title and a short abstract (~200 words) to Caitlin Adams and Tom Tyson by 15 January.
