Cheltenham College is seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent Archivist to manage, preserve and develop the archive collections of College, The Prep and the Cheltonian Society.
A professional archival qualification is required for this position, either a Postgraduate degree in Archives & Records Management, or a related discipline. Furthermore, applicants should also have membership and/or knowledge of the Archives and Records Association (ARA) and the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS).
It is vital for this role that applicants have excellent communication skills at all levels as the successful candidate will be responsible for: liaising with donors, collaborating with internal stakeholders such as the Cheltonian Society, Development and Marketing Departments to promote the use of Archives and College’s heritage within and beyond College, supervising Archive researchers including external visitors, pupils and staff, supporting and managing volunteer placements, conducting tours, workshops and displays as required and, from time-to-time, deputising for the Records & Heritage Manager.
