For the 75° anniversary of the Liberation of Italy the database “Partigiani d’Italia” (Italian Partizans) was made available for consultation: it contains the cards about the recognition requests of partizan qualifications. Starting May 2 this new portal is online, but the cards and their digital reproductions will be available for everyone starting 8 September.
This portal exists thanks to the collaboration between Direzione Generale Archivi, Istituto Centrale per gli Archivi (ICAR), Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS), Archivio Centrale dello Stato, Istituto Nazionale Ferruccio Parri and Istituto della Resistenza di Torino (Istoreto).
They took the decision to digitally reproduce, among the different types of documents held in the “Ricompart” fund (Archivio Centrale dello Stato), the cards produced by the Commissions who analyzed the requests. The D.L.L. 21 agosto 1945, n. 518 established strict criteria for people to get the qualification of “fell” partizan, “fighter”, “disabled” or “war wounded” and the qualification of “patriot” for every person who “collaborated or contributed to the liberation fight […] between 1943 and 1945”.
The portal is here (in Italian): https://partigiani.sns.it/
