Our online exhibition continues, now more than ever aware that Borders are a social and political constructs rather than barriers… after Savoy, another contended frontier par excellence of Europe: Alsace-Lorraine, the space where the enmity between France and Germany clashed for centuries…the Archives départementales de la Côte-d’or host the Declaration by the deputies of Alsace-Lorraine at the National Assembly of Bordeaux, March 1, 1871, vehemently protesting against the annexation to Germany as part of the negotiations for the end of the Franc-Prussian war.
