Archives: reserves of democracy in Venice

Venice (Italy), 16-17 January 2020

The University of Venice is hosting, on 16 and 17 January 2020, “Archives: reserves of democracy“, in collaboration with the Central Institute for Archives and La Sapienza University of Rome.

The conference stems from the idea that, throughout history, archives have been carrying different functions depending from the social, cultural and political conditions of the time when they were created and have evolved. This process has had, among others, one consequence: people have created different procedures to handle documents over time, depending on the use for them, and this process of evolution is still ongoing.

Visit the Central Institute for Archives website and Facebook page for more information.

Working language of this conference is Italian.
